August 1813
The map shows the current location of corps
headquarters.
The location of the divisions are not shown.
Forward divisions are now in contact along the whole front,
and a considerable amount of recce has been carried out. But no corps commander has yet committed to
battle.
All six corps commanders have been given general objectives,
but complete freedom to decide how and when to commit to battle.
All of the corps have spent the first two days concentrating
their widely spread divisions. Some
have now completed this objective, others are still moving to do so.
Those divisions which have been on the move since the start
of the campaign are starting to run short of supplies. Some corps commanders have ordered them to
resupply, other’s not. Attrition due to
lack of supplies could become a problem shortly.
